Karen Paglia is a professional and tertiary qualified counsellor and psychotherapist who works in private practice in Adelaide. She sees individuals, couples and families in a beautiful light-filled office, located close to the city in Rose Park.
Karen began her professional life as an educator, working closely with children, young people and their families. After some time devoted to raising her own children and nurturing family life, she returned to study and gained her Masters degree in Counselling, from the University of South Australia.
Her subsequent training is in areas such as Jungian analytical psychology - working with the relationship between the unconscious and the conscious through dreams and symbol-work, as well as couple and family therapy, Imago Relationship therapy and mediation and conflict resolution.
As a therapist, Karen values the integration of mind, body, soul and spirit, and considers this integration to be significant in reclaiming and maintaining an ongoing sense of wholeness and well-being. Therefore, modalities such as guided imagery, meditation, mindfulness, breath work and therapies that consider the body’s subtle energy system, inform her therapeutic practice.
Karen combines a genuine interest in others with a warm and calm presence. She seeks to help people gain new understandings and possibilities in a confidential environment.
She believes that when people choose to come to counselling it is an act of strength that will increase their resources and capacity to deal with the issues they are confronting.
